Traditional Swan Neck Plaster Coving

Swan neck coving - or swan neck cornice as it is often called - is a classic design of the Victorian period. With its distinctive profile it is instantly recognisable.

The swan neck design was widely used on furniture of the period, with ‘swan neck pediments’ often adorning pieces such as bookcases, Grandfather clocks and architectural features such as door surrounds and staircases.

However, these days its use is not restricted to the restoration of Victorian houses. Swan neck coving is a popular choice for new builds. We have recommended cornice fitters in most areas who are specialists in decorative plasterwork and we would recommend swan neck coving should only fitted by experienced tradesmen - especially the larger profiles LPC017 and LPC018.

All our Swan neck coving is hand-made in traditional moulds with the finest casting plaster. These authentic period designs will restore the Victorian look and feel to a Victorian property and can add elegance and style to a new build.
