Wardle: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We supply plaster coving to Wardle and the surrounding Rochdale area on a regular basis, typically delivering at least once a week. All orders are transported using our own vans and handled by our experienced drivers, ensuring everything arrives safely. On delivery, our team will make sure your coving is stacked securely and stored correctly, which is particularly important on busy sites where accidental damage can occur.

Every piece of coving and each ceiling rose we produce is handmade using traditional Victorian methods. Our cornice is cast in 2.4 metre (8ft) lengths, with each section individually moulded. Because we hold large quantities in stock, we’re able to fulfil orders quickly, even for larger projects.

With Wardle’s strong base of Victorian housing, certain styles of coving tend to work especially well. However, the best choice always comes down to personal preference and the proportions of your room. For a timeless option, LPC001, a large ogee cornice, complements the mouldings commonly found in Wardle homes built over the past two centuries.

In many of Wardle’s period properties, swan neck cornice is a particularly popular choice. Its profile extends further across the ceiling than down the wall, making it well suited to rooms with higher ceilings and giving a classic Victorian appearance. Some swan neck designs include:

• LPC017 is ideal for larger rooms with higher than average ceilings
• LPC030 suits rooms with slightly above average ceiling heights
• MPC065 works well in spaces with standard ceiling heights

These designs pair nicely with a plain spun ceiling rose such as LPR074, or for a more ornate look, LPR060 offers a traditional Victorian style with acanthus leaf detailing.

For homes that are more modern or have been recently updated, simpler designs can be more appropriate: 

• LPC015 is a versatile option that works well in rooms with average or higher ceilings
• MPC046 offers a similar look in a smaller, more compact size, ideal where ceiling height is more limited.

The same coving can appear very different depending on the decor and layout of a room, so viewing samples is always worthwhile.
