Leicester: Plaster Cornice, Coving and Ceiling Roses

We deliver plaster coving to the Leicester area at least once a week, we use our own vans and drivers for deliveries to ensure the coving arrives in good condition, our drivers will also check the coving is handled carefully and stacked safely, ready for when it comes to be used. This is especially important on busy building sites.

We make all our plaster cornice by hand using the same materials and techniques that were used in Victorian times, each individual length of coving or ceiling rose is moulded by hand, from start to finish, the whole process is still done by hand.

Leicester has quite a mix of property and several types of cornice are consistently popular. These are a good place to start, if you don't already know what you are looking for. For Victorian and Edwardian houses many of which remain around the center of the city, swan neck cornice is always popular. This is a classic Victorian design that was used into the Edwardian period and beyond, it gets its name because it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall. We have a full range of sizes, for different ceiling heights, with average ceiling heights MPC065 is the most often chosen and for larger rooms with higher ceilings LPC030 or LPC073, and for something more ornate LPC024 is another Victorian design.

With more modern houses, a popular large cornice is LPC015, and for those rooms where the ceiling height is lower MPC046. With all these cornices a plain spun ceiling rose such as LPR074 is a good choice.

Samples of all our coving can be ordered from the individual product pages, also on these pages are hundreds of pictures of our coving painted and decorated in real life situations, most of these photographs have been sent in by our customers and are a great way to get a true impression of how a particular design would actually look when fitted in your own home.

We would suggest you use experienced cornice fitters to install your coving, they will not have problems especially in older houses, with walls that are not straight and ceilings that are not level, things that are actually just part of the job. The inexperienced can sometimes have real difficulties and the result is they do not get nearly as much coving fitted in a day and what they do fit, could have been done better.

We have good contacts with local tradesmen and can put you in contact. If you have any other questions or would like any further information, please call our customer services team, they will be happy to talk to you.
