Chester: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We deliver Plaster Coving to the Chester area at least once a week, there is never very long to wait after placing an order. We use our own vans and drivers to ensure coving arrives in good condition, our drivers will check that the coving is being handled carefully and stacked safely ready for when it comes to be used. This is especially important on busy or crowded building sites.

Our warehouse is in Stockport just off junction 28 of the M60, orders can be collected from there, you can also visit the warehouse place and pay for your order and take it away with you all in one visit, we are open Monday to Friday 8am to  4pm.

All our plaster coving is still made by hand using the same materials and techniques used in Victorian times. Every ceiling rose and every length of coving is individually moulded, the whole process from start to finish is done entirely by hand.

Chester has many fine buildings having expanded rapidly in Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian times, all these buildings would have originally had decorative plasterwork. Fortunately much of this has survived, where it has not we have been involved in the renovation of Victorian and Edwardian houses. Especially popular with these renovations has been swan neck coving, so called because it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall. Swan neck cornice was used widely in the Victorian and Edwardian eras and will be instantly recognisable to anyone who is familiar with older houses. We have a range of sizes LPC017 is one of the larger sizes and suitable for higher than average ceilings, for those with lower ceilings or perhaps for upstairs rooms MPC065 will give the same effect. LPR060 is a classic Victorian ceiling rose that is often chosen to complete the room.

We don't just sell coving for older houses we have a full range of designs covering all styles and periods, LPC015 is a stylish cornice that looks good anywhere with average and above ceiling heights, it's very popular with owners of twentieth century properties and new builds. If your ceilings are lower MPC046 is just as effective, a plain spun ceiling rose such as MPR073 is a good choice to complement both of these.

Samples of all our designs are available on the individual product pages, also on these pages are hundreds of pictures of our coving in real life settings, these photographs have mostly been sent in by customers and are the best way to see how a particular design would look in your own home.  It is amazing to see just how different the same design can look depending on the way in which a room has been decorated and furnished, samples only take a couple of days to arrive.

We would suggest you use experienced coving fitters to install your cornice, not only will the finish be better it should also be cheaper. Experienced fitters will not have trouble with walls that are not straight, ceilings that are not level, corners that are not right angles and coving that is patterned, these are all just part of the job especially with older houses.
