Project: A Timeless Hallway Transformation in Chester

Before and after plaster ceiling rose installation

The Journey:

What were your first impressions when the Ceiling Rose arrived?

"It arrived really well packaged, very robust with lots of protective layers so it was secure in transit. Once unwrapped, I just thought it was gorgeous and was so excited to put it up!"

All of our roses are carefully packaged with multiple protective layers to ensure they arrive in perfect condition, ready to be enjoyed straight away.

How did the installation go, and what advice would you give others?

"My electrician fitted it at the same time as installing my new chandelier so that worked really well and that’s what I’ve done with all my ceiling roses from you."

Installing your ceiling rose alongside your lighting is a simple and effective way to achieve a seamless, professional finish while saving time during installation.

Which room did you add the ceiling rose to and what difference did it make?

"I added this one into our Victorian hallway which really needed some detail bringing back into it. It adds so much charm, detail and character."

Did adding the ceiling rose change the atmosphere of the space?

"Completely. It added character and elegance that wasn’t there before but I imagine was in years gone by. Like the house deserves. It’s one of those details that makes the space feel finished and like it’s always been there."

How did you ensure the rose matched the period of your home?

"This piece is called the gothic rose I think so it might not be an exact molding that would’ve been in my Victorian home but I just loved the design and size and knew it was the one"

When it comes to ceiling roses, you have the freedom to choose a design that you truly love, it doesn’t have to perfectly match the period of your property. Selecting a style that suits your taste can create a beautiful focal point while still enhancing the overall character of your space.

Did you paint the rose, and how did the plaster take the finish?

"The paint is Soft Pelican by Valspa colour matched and mixed for me by @decoratingCentreonline and honestly your roses are so easy to paint it was super simple. The paint went on and only needed one coat.  I colour drenched the whole room including the rose."

Lucy’s hallway is a perfect example of how a single, well-chosen detail can redefine a space. By introducing a ceiling rose that complements both her style and the character of her home, she’s created a look that feels considered, cohesive, and full of charm. From installation to finishing touches, every step shows how simple additions can have a lasting impact.
