Berwick-upon-Tweed: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We deliver plaster cornice and plaster ceiling roses to Berwick and the surrounding area once a week so there is never a long wait after placing an order, we use our own vans and drivers for deliveries and they are regularly in or travelling through the area. We make all our plaster coving and ceiling roses by hand still using the same techniques and materials that were used in Victorian times, coving is made in 8 foot (2.4M) lengths and each ceiling rose is made individually by hand. We keep large amounts of finished coving in stock allowing us to meet even the biggest orders in a matter of days not weeks.

Berwick has a long history as a prosperous port and was a coastal fortress in Elizabethan times, in the Victorian period the population  grew considerably and new housing was built outside the town walls. We specialise in plaster cornice for Victorian houses and have supplied plaster cornice for the refurbishment of many of these properties, always popular for Victorian cornice restorations is swan neck cornice, so called because it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall. Its name may not be familiar but the design is instantly recognisable to anybody familiar with Victorian and Edwardian houses. LPC017 is one of our larger swan neck cornices and suitable for the higher ceilings of larger Victorian detached and semi detached houses, LPC030 for above average height ceilings.  MPC065 suits more averaged height ceilings, and is often chosen for the  bedrooms of older houses or for more modern houses where a traditional style is desired. A plain spun ceiling rose like LPR074 is a good choice to complement any Victorian cornice and if you are looking for something more ornate LPR026 is a classic Victorian ceiling rose featuring a bold sunflower design.

We don't only make plaster cornice for older houses we have a full range covering all types and ages of property. Designs such as LPC015 which adds style to any room with a ceiling of average and above height an extremely popular cornice for houses of all ages and styles. If you do not have the ceiling height MPC046 has just as much style with smaller proportions, and MPC028 is a classic Art Deco stepped design which is becoming very popular these days.

Samples of all our cornice are available off the individual product page, where you will also see hundreds of pictures of our ceiling roses and plaster cornice in real life settings. These photographs which have been sent in by our customers are the best way to get an idea of how a particular cornice or rose would actually look in your own room. The same coving can look completely different depending on the style in which the various rooms have been decorated and furnished. Samples only take a couple of days to arrive.

We would suggest you use experienced fitters to install your coving, not only will the finished result be better it should also be cheaper. They will not have any difficulties with walls that are not straight or ceilings that or not level not to mention corners that are not right angles, these are all just part of the job, and to be expected when working on most properties, especially older ones. It is possible to fit cornice yourself, the smaller ones are easier, as long as you take it slowly and have two people, we have some video guides on the website to help you.
