Aberdeen: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We deliver Plaster coving to the Aberdeen area roughly once every two weeks, we use our own vans and drivers for deliveries as no courier companies can deliver such a fragile product, so we need to wait until we have a van full of orders for the journey to be economic, as we do not charge any extra for delivery to Aberdeen, at the present time this is roughly every two weeks. If you are in a hurry please call customer services before placing an order and they should be able to give you a more accurate delivery estimate.

All our plaster coving is hand made. We still use the same techniques and materials that were used in Victorian times, every length of coving and every ceiling rose are individually moulded, the whole process from start to finish is completed entirely by hand. We keep large stocks of finished coving so that we are able to supply even the largest orders in a matter of days not weeks as we do not have to wait for the coving to dry.

Aberdeen is famous for its fine granite buildings, many of which date back to Victorian times and earlier, all of which would once have had plaster cornice and ceiling roses. Fortunately most of this has survived, where it has not we have been involved in some of the renovation and restoration projects.

Swan neck coving, so called because it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall, has been a popular choice in these projects. It was widely used in Victorian and Edwardian times and will be instantly recognisable to anyone familiar with buildings of the period. LPC017 is one of our larger sizes and well suited to higher ceilings and bigger rooms, for something more ornate LPC019 and XLPC004 are fine Victorian designs both have been popular in Aberdeen's larger buildings. LPR060 is a classic Victorian ceiling rose which is often chosen alongside these cornices. If you do not have the ceiling height MPC065 will give you exactly the same effect in a smaller room.

We don't just make coving for older houses, we have a full range of styles and designs for properties of all ages, designs such as LPC015, which looks good anywhere that has average and above ceiling heights, this is especially popular with post Edwardian houses and new builds, MPC046 will again create a similar effect if you do not have the ceiling height. A plain spun ceiling rose such as MPR073 will go well with both of these cornices.

Samples of all our coving can be ordered off the individual product pages, where you will also see hundreds of pictures of our coving in real life situations. These photographs have been sent in by customers and are the best way to see what a design would actually look like in your own home. It is surprising just how different the same cornice can look depending on how the room has been decorated and furnished, samples only take a couple of days to arrive.

We suggest you use experienced cornice fitters to install your cornice, not only will the result be better, it should also be cheaper, they will not have problems with walls that are not straight or ceilings not level, corners that are not right angles and cornice with a pattern. All these things are just part of the job especially with older houses. We have good contacts with local tradesmen and can put you in contact.

If you have any questions or would like any more information, please call our customer services team, they will be happy to talk to you.
