Victorian Ogee Cornice 190MM LPC080
Drop: 190mmProjection: 180mm
This is our largest ogee cornice with a drop of 190mm and a projection of 180mm. The top section of the profile features a stepped moulding above a shallow cove, with a large Ogee curve below.
This cornice needs ceilings of 10ft plus to look in proportion. Ceilings of this height were common in Victorian and Edwardian times, which makes this cornice a popular choice for restoring larger Victorian and Edwardian houses. Though this cornice will not look out of place in any house built in the last 250 years, as long as there is sufficient ceiling height.
If you need a smaller Ogee cornice, LPC001 has a drop of 150mm and MPC039 has a drop of 100mm.
The ogee curve has been used in decorative plaster mouldings and timber mouldings, such as skirting boards and architraves since Georgian times, it's also common in furniture, both antique and modern.
If you are restoring a period house and have high enough ceilings, a cornice like this will fit in perfectly and match the internal joinery. Should you also need to replace any skirting boards or architraves we have a small range of period designs. They are in larger sizes, that hard to find these days, which will be in proportion to a larger cornice like this. SB009 and ARC002 are a popular choice of skirting board and architrave for larger Victorian properties.
If you are planning to install your own plaster cornice, we have a range of Installation tools and materials. There are also helpful instructional videos on the website.
All our plaster coving is handmade using the same techniques and materials that were used in Victorian times.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I ORDER?
If you measure your plaster coving needs and order an exact amount, one wall could end up being finished in small off-cuts. To avoid this, we recommend you order 15% extra to ensure longer lengths are used wherever possible, as this will create a better finish. This coving comes in 2.4m lengths.
Please remember, our coving is priced and ordered by the metre, not per length. Prices include VAT.
