We originally made this cornice for the restoration of a London townhouse, where the cornice in the past had been removed from most of the rooms. Fortunately, there were a few areas where we could find enough of the original cornice to take a mould and replicate it.

It has all the elements of a classic Victorian plaster cornice: a deep cove, ogee mouldings to the top and bottom rails, and a large drip moulding above. What also made it stand out was its size, with 160mm, 6-inch drop. It is perfect for the higher-than-average ceilings of Victorian and Edwardian houses once we had seen just how good it looked in the house for which it was originally made, we decided to add it to our cornice range and make it available to all our customers.

You can fit it in any Victorian and Edwardian house, and it will look like it's always been there. The ogee mouldings will match the skirting boards, and its generous proportions will complement the size of period skirting boards and architraves.

It is one of those cornices that can be used throughout the house, looking good in every room. You don't have to have a period house to install this cornice, as long as you have sufficient ceiling height, the cornice will add style and elegance to any room.

This cornice is handmade, each piece being individually moulded using techniques and materials unchanged since Victorian times.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I ORDER?

If you measure your plaster coving needs and order an exact amount, one wall could end up being finished in small off-cuts. To avoid this, we recommend you order 15% extra to ensure longer lengths are used wherever possible, as this will create a better finish. This coving comes in 2.4m lengths.
