Plaster Coving Ogee 120mm MPC039
Plaster Coving Ogee 120mm MPC039
Drop: 110mmProjection: 100mm
Ogee cornice has been used from Georgian times through to the present day. It was used widely in Victorian and Edwardian times, and throughout the 20th century.
The ogee curve is also seen in skirting boards and architraves, furniture (both antique and contemporary). It is still widely used today throughout new build houses in the internal joinery, It's use is so widespread that few people realise just how long the ogee profile has been in use.
As a result, an ogee cornice will go anywhere, matching skirting boards, pelmets around kitchen units, architraves, and details on furniture. With a drop of 120mm, 5 inches, this cornice is suitable for rooms with ceilings of around average height.
Some cornices suit a particular style, period, or type of house. An ogee cornice like this can be used literally anywhere and will always look good. If your ceiling heights are lower, perhaps they've been over-boarded, and there is now very little room for a cornice as the gap has been reduced between the ceiling and the window architrave, SPC006 is a smaller ogee cornice that may be suitable.
like all our coving, this cornice is handmade. Each piece is individually moulded using techniques and materials that have not changed since Victorian times
HOW MUCH SHOULD I ORDER?
If you measure your plaster coving needs and order an exact amount, one wall could end up being finished in small off-cuts. To avoid this, we recommend you order 15% extra to ensure longer lengths are used wherever possible, as this will create a better finish. This coving comes in 2.4m lengths.
