The ogee curve has been widely used in both timber and plaster mouldings as well as furniture since Georgian times. As a result, our ogee plaster cornices are some of our most versatile, blending as they do seamlessly into any room.

This is our smallest ogee plaster cornice, and it is generally used where there is not room for a larger cornice, perhaps because the ceilings have been over-boarded or lowered. Resulting in insufficient room for a larger cornice between the new ceiling and the window architraves.

In Georgian times, cornice had to be run in situ, rather than made off-site and delivered in pre-moulded lengths, as we do today, and has been standard practice since Victorian times. We have seen small, original ogee cornice of around this size in the upstairs rooms of Georgian houses, where it would have been used at the time to keep the cost down. The cornice is nonetheless an attractive original feature.

This cornice is made entirely by hand, each length individually moulded, using the same techniques and materials that were used in Victorian times.

If you are looking for a larger ogee cornice, LPC001 is suited to rooms with high ceilings, and MPC039 for rooms with ceilings of average height.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I ORDER?

If you measure your plaster coving needs and order an exact amount, one wall could end up being finished in small off-cuts. To avoid this, we recommend you order 15% extra to ensure longer lengths are used wherever possible, as this will create a better finish. This coving comes in 2.4m lengths.

Product Questions

Answers to common questions about sizing, delivery, and suitability.

What are the Dimensions of this Product ?

Coving projection and drop are the two essential measurements for installation: the projection is the distance the coving extends across the ceiling from the wall, while the drop is the vertical distance it extends down the wall from the ceiling.

For this product, the projection and drop are measured in millimetres:

  • Projection: 60mm
  • Drop: 55mm

How quickly can I have delivery ?

We use our own vans and drivers to deliver coving. Our products are fragile and need to be handled carefully.

Using our own transport ensures your coving arrives in good condition and customers are kept up to date with progress on the day of delivery. We deliver to the vast majority of the UK within five working days, often sooner.

If you live in an isolated area, deliveries will be less frequent than somewhere like the centre of London, where we have multiple vans every day. If you have an urgent delivery requirement, please call our customer services team at 0333 043 1471, who will be able to tell you our latest delivery schedules.

Alternatively, you can check this nationwide uk coving delivery index for typical delivery times to your area.
