Here we have a typical traditional British Victorian plaster cornice. In Victorian times, every town would have had a number of small producers making and installing cornices. Each would have had their own moulds, and all of them would have been producing cornices that looked very much like this.

In typical Victorian style, this cornice extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall, giving it an elegant profile that looks exceptionally good on external corners, such as around a chimney breast, a classic Victorian feature that will be instantly recognisable to anybody familiar with older properties.

This is a fairly large cornice and suitable for houses with average and above-average ceiling heights, which are, of course, typically found in properties from the Victorian and Edwardian periods.

If you are restoring a Victorian or Edwardian house, or would like to add some period style to a more modern property (as long as your ceilings are high enough), this is the perfect cornice.

All our plaster cornice is handmade. Each length is individually moulded using the same techniques and materials that were used in the Victorian period.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I ORDER?

If you measure your plaster coving needs and order an exact amount, one wall could end up being finished in small off-cuts. To avoid this, we recommend you order 15% extra to ensure longer lengths are used wherever possible, as this will create a better finish. This coving comes in 2.4m lengths.
