Wrexham: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We deliver plaster coving to the Wrexham area at least once a week, there is never long to wait after placing an order. We use our own vans and drivers for delivery, to make sure our coving arrives in good condition, our drivers will check that that coving is handled carefully and stacked safely ready for use, this is especially important on busy or crowded building sites.

All our plaster coving is hand made, we still use the same methods and materials that were used in Victorian times, each ceiling rose or length of coving is individually moulded, the whole process is done entirely by hand. We keep large amounts of finished coving in stock so that we are able to deliver even the largest orders in a matter of days rather than weeks.

Wrexham grew rapidly in Victorian times as its iron and steel industry thrived and new houses were required for its ever growing population. All of these Victorian and Edwardian houses would have originally had plaster coving and ceiling roses, fortunately most of this has survived but where it has not we have supplied many of the renovation projects, our coving is made in the same way as the original and once it is fitted, you would think it had always been there.

One of the most popular designs for these renovation projects has been Swan Neck Cornice, so called, because it extends further across the ceiling than it drops down the wall. Swan Neck coving was used widely in Victorian and Edwardian times, its distinctive profile will be recognisable to anybody who is familiar with older houses.

LPC030 is one of the larger sized swan neck cornice suitable for rooms with the higher than average ceilings so often found in Victorian houses, for lower ceilings MPC065 has the same style with smaller proportions, a plain spun ceiling rose such as MPR073 is a good choice to complete the room. We don't just make coving for older houses, designs such as LPC015 look good anywhere and are especially popular with customers decorating houses from the 1930’s onwards. It does need a reasonable ceiling height to look its best, and for those with lower ceilings MPC046 is just as effective, again a plain spun ceiling rose such as MPR072 is very popular.

Samples of all our coving designs are available off the individual product pages, these pages also feature hundreds of pictures of our coving in real life settings, these photographs have mostly been sent in by our customers, they are the best way to see how a particular design would look in your own home. It is surprising just how different the same design can look depending on how a room has been decorated and furnished, samples only take a couple of days to arrive.

We would suggest you use experienced coving fitters to install your cornice, the finish will be better and it should be cheaper as well. They do not have difficulties with walls that are not straight, ceilings that are not level, cornice that has a pattern, and corners that are not right angles. All things that are just part of the job especially with older houses, we have good contacts with local tradesmen and can put you in touch.

If you have any other questions, or need any further information please give our customer services team a call, they will be happy to talk to you.
