Walsall: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We deliver plaster coving to the Walsall area at least twice a week, We have our own vans and drivers to ensure our coving is delivered in good condition, our drivers will check the coving is handled carefully and stacked safely ready for use. This is especially important on busy or crowded building sites where damage can occur.

All our plaster coving and ceiling roses are hand made, we still use the same techniques and materials that were used in Victorian times, coving comes in 2.4 meter (8 foot) lengths, each one, along with each ceiling rose is individually moulded, the whole process from start to finish is done entirely by hand. If you would like to see a video of one of our ceiling roses being made please follow this link.

Walsall was at the heart of the industrial revolution and new houses were required for the ever growing population. Today, many of these Victorian and Edwardian properties remain along with much of their original plaster cornice and ceiling roses. All of these houses when built would have had a full set of plaster mouldings and fortunately most of these have survived. Where they have not, we have supplied authentic replacements, one of the most popular designs for these renovation projects has always been Swan Neck Coving, so called because it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall. It is a classic Victorian design and will be instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with older houses. We have a range of sizes LPC030 is one of the larger sizes ideal for the above average ceiling heights of most Victorian and Edwardian properties, if your ceiling heights are lower MPC065 has smaller proportions with just as much style. A plain spun ceiling rose such as LPR074 is a good choice to complete the room with either of these designs,  for something more ornate LPR060 is a traditional Victorian ceiling rose featuring an acanthus leaf design.

We don't just make plaster coving for older houses, we have a full range of designs and supply properties of every type and period. LPC015 is a stylish plaster cornice that looks good anywhere with average and above ceiling heights, it is particularly popular for properties built from the 1920’s onwards and is frequently chosen for new builds. If your ceiling heights are lower, MPC046 is just as effective.

Samples of all our coving are available off the individual product pages, also on these pages are hundreds of pictures of our coving in real life situations, these photographs have been sent in by our customers and are the best way to get an idea of how a design would actually look in your own home. It is surprising just how different the same design can look depending on the way in which a room has been decorated and furnished. Coving samples only take a couple of days to arrive.

We would suggest you use experienced cornice fitters to fit your coving, not only will the end result be better it should also be cheaper. Experienced fitters will not have problems with walls that are not straight, ceilings that are not level, corners that are not right angles or cornice with a pattern on it, all this is just part of the job especially with older houses. They are able to fit more coving in a day and the coving they do fit is fitted to a higher standard.

We have contacts with local tradesmen and can put you in contact, if you have any other questions or would like any further information, please call our customer services team they will be happy to talk to you.
