Tower Hamlets: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses
We deliver coving to Tower Hamlets at least twice a week, unfortunately not as much Victorian and Edwardian property has survived in the area, as in some other parts of London, but there is still a strong demand for decorative plasterwork for both the older and more modern properties.
With so many apartments in the area, designs such as SPC070 are popular. This is a swan neck cornice, so called because it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall, although, a Victorian / Edwardian design , it does not look dated, and is not at all out of place in a modern apartment, where it will transform a room. While a slightly larger size of Swan Neck MPC065 is a regular choice for the remaining Victorian and Edwardian houses, which generally have larger rooms and higher ceilings. A plain spun ceiling rose such as MPR073 will complete the scheme.
We still make all our coving and ceiling roses by hand, each piece is individually moulded using the same materials and techniques that were used in Victorian times, a truly handmade product.
We keep large stocks of finished coving, which allows us to deliver in days rather than weeks as we do not have to wait for the coving to dry. We use our own vans and drivers for coving deliveries to make sure it arrives in perfect condition, and to make sure it stays in good condition our drivers will check it is handled and stacked safely, ready for use. This is particularly important on busy sites, where damage can occur after delivery.
Samples of all our coving can be ordered off the individual product pages, where we also have hundreds of pictures of coving in real life settings, most of these pictures have been sent in by our customers, and it is always surprising to see how the same cornice can look completely different depending on the way a room had been decorated and furnished.
We would suggest you use experienced coving fitters to fit your cornice, they do not have problems with things such as walls that are not straight and ceilings that are not level, things that are actually just part of the job, but can cause problems for the less experienced. This means they can fit a lot more coving in a day, and what they do fit, is fitted to a higher standard. So not only is it better, it is also cheaper, we have good contacts with local builders and tradesmen and can put you in touch with a fitter if required.
If you have any questions or would like any further information please give our customer service team a call, they will be happy to talk to you.
