Shaw and Crompton: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Roses

Enriched with Victorian and Edwardian architecture, Shaw & Crompton like most of Greater Manchester is packed with historic properties that were mainly built to house local workers during the industrial revolution. Victorian homes are defined by their decorative details, which are considered thoughtful and charming today. All of these homes would have originally been finished with ornate plaster features such as plaster coving, ceiling roses, and corbels. Where these features haven't managed to survive the test of time we have had the privilege of supplying the materials for reinstating their timeless class.

Our Northern warehouse is  located off junction 28 of the M60 which is less than a 1 hour drive from Shaw & Crompton, otherwise we can easily  provide frequent deliveries throughout the week. We use our own team of dedicated drivers and our own delivery vans, our drivers will ensure your order arrives in perfect condition. all of our plaster products are raw materials and need to be handled with care, our drivers will happily advise you on how to correctly store your order, ceiling roses should be stored laid flat and Coving should be neatly stacked in the position it is intended to be installed free from traffic and away from walkways, this is particularly important on busy building sites. If you would prefer to collect your order directly from our warehouse, we are open from 8am - 4pm, Monday - Friday. It is not necessary We warmly welcome visitors and our friendly operatives will be able to assist you with recommendations.

We offer a wide range of handmade plaster coving and ceiling roses made using the same traditional materials and techniques that were used during Victorian times this  ensures authentic details with a durable finish. All of our products are individually moulded and cast, the whole process from start to finish is completely done by hand. We are able to maintain a large quantity of stock which enables us to fulfill substantial orders for larger projects in a matter of days.

Always popular for Victorian renovations is our Swan Neck Plaster Coving range proclaimed for its shape that extends further across the ceiling than down the wall. Our swan neck collection is available in various sizes allowing you to create a consistent aesthetic throughout your home. For properties with larger ceilings such as a Victorian Semi-detached property we would recommend our LPC030, for average sized ceilings such as those featured in Victorian terraces our MPC065 is ideal and our SPC070 achieves the same elegant transition in smaller rooms with lower ceilings. Our swan neck coving can be beautifully paired with a plain spun ceiling rose such as MPR072 or LPR076

Coving isn't just for historical properties, we are noticing a growing demand for coving in new homes and new builds. Our plaster coving LPC015 is a stylish choice that offers a sleek transition ceiling to wall, which is perfect for fresh apartments or new builds.

You can order samples through the individual product pages where you can also view multiple images of our products in various interiors. All of our images have been sent to us by our customers and provide an excellent impression of how our ceiling roses and coving will look in your home, it's interesting to see just how different decor and style can transform the appearance of the same design. Samples typically arrive within a couple of days.

We would always recommend you use experienced fitters for installation, especially in period homes where walls and ceilings tend to be uneven. Professional installation ensures you get the most out of your coving allowing them to last a life-time and adding further value to your home. We believe using a professional will also be more cost-effective, a professional is less likely to waste material and will be able to complete a fitting in half the time.

We have various contacts for reliable and skilled coving fitters that cover Shaw & Crompton and the surrounding areas. Please get in touch with our customer service team to discuss installation further, our team will be happy to help and talk you through the process.
