Scarborough: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We deliver plaster cornice and plaster ceiling roses to Scarborough usually once a week so there is never long to wait after placing an order, we use our own vans and drivers to make deliveries, as there are no couriers who can deliver it safely at anything like a reasonable cost. The vans do get full so please give us as much time as you are able when placing an order. Our drivers will check the coving is handled carefully and stacked safely ready for use, this is especially important on busy or crowded building sites.

We still make all our plaster cornice and plaster ceiling roses by hand. Plaster coving is made in 8 foot (2.4M) lengths using the same techniques and materials that were used in Victorian times. Each length is individually moulded, all our ceiling roses are also hand made. We keep large stocks of finished coving and ceiling roses so that we are able to meet even the biggest orders in a matter of days.

With a wealth of Victorian and Edwardian properties Scarborough has always been a busy area for us, with authentic Victorian and Edwardian cornice designs always popular. Amongst these swan neck cornice stands out as being one of the most popular, so called because it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall, swan neck cornice was used widely in the Victorian and Edwardian periods across houses both large and small. Whilst the name may not ring any bells the cornice itself will be instantly recognisable to anybody familiar with older houses. LPC017 is one of our larger swan neck cornices and would have been used in detached and larger semi detached Victorian houses with their high ceilings, LPC030 and MPC065 are smaller sizes suitable for above average and averaged height ceilings respectively. For something more ornate LPC019 is a grand Victorian cornice that would have been used in the entrance halls and the principle rooms of larger houses where it would have had the most impact upon visitors. For a matching ceiling rose LPR060 is a fine original Victorian design also featuring acanthus leaves.

We don't just make plaster coving for older houses, we have a complete range covering all ages and styles of property. Art Deco designs such as MPC028 a three stepped cornice which will transform a room with its 1930s style, LPC015 a stylish cornice not tied to any particular period will add elegance to any room with average and above ceiling heights, MPC046 is just as stylish with smaller proportions and will do the same for rooms with lower ceiling heights.

Samples of all our coving are available off the individual product pages, these pages also feature hundreds of photographs of ur coving and ceiling roses in real life settings, all of these pictures have been sent in by our customers and are the best way to get a true impression of how a particular rose or cornice would actually look in your own home. The same cornice or ceiling rose looks completely different depending on the style in which the rooms have been decorated and furnished. Samples only take a couple of days to arrive.

We would suggest you use experienced cornice fitters to install your coving not only with the end result be better it should also be cheaper, they will not have problems with walls that are not straight,  ceilings that are not level or corners that are not right angles, these are all just expected parts of the job, especially when working on Scarborough's older houses where few things are often level or straight.
