Plymouth: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We deliver plaster coving to the Plymouth area around once a week. We use our own vans and drivers to make sure it arrives in good condition, our drivers will then check it is handled carefully and stacked safely ready for use, this is especially important on busy building sites.

All our plaster coving is hand made using the same materials and techniques that were used over one hundred years ago, each length of coving or ceiling rose is individually moulded, a completely manual process.

Plymouth's mix of older and newer houses has made several different styles of cornice particularly popular, and if you are not sure where to start looking, these are not a bad place to start, to get some ideas. For older Victorian and Edwardian houses the swan neck profile is always popular, this is a classic Victorian design that was used into the Edwardian period and beyond. It gets its name from the fact it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall. We have a range of sizes, MPC065 is very popular as it suits the room sizes of most terraced houses, however if your ceilings and higher than average LPC030 will be the right size for you. A plain spun ceiling rose such as MPR073 is a good choice to complete the room.

For more modern properties MPC051 is good for houses with lower ceiling heights and LPC015 for those with higher ceilings. We try to have something for every type and size of house, and samples of all our coving can be ordered off the individual product pages. Where there are hundreds of pictures of our coving fitted and decorated in real life situations, most of the photographs have been sent in by our customers and are the best way to get a true impression of how a particular cornice would actually look in your own home. Samples only take a couple of days to arrive.

We would suggest you use experienced cornice fitters to fit your coving, not only will the result be better, it should also be cheaper as they do not have difficulties with walls that are not straight or ceiling that are not level, things that are actually just part of the job. This means they can get a lot more done in a day, and the cornice they fit is fitted to a higher standard.

We have good contacts with local builders and tradesmen and can put you in touch. If you have any other questions or would like any other information, please call our customer services team. They will be happy to talk to you.
