Bath: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Roses

Bath grew into the elegant spa town we know today in the Georgian period, though its natural hot springs had been important for thousands of years. The Romans established a settlement called Aquae Sulis around 70 AD, The architecture of Bath is now so important that it is recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage site with its iconic Georgian crescents and town houses all built from local Bath stone.

Bath saw continued development in Victorian times with many fine Victorian houses built, all of which would have had decorative plaster, fortunately most of this has survived unlike in some other areas though where it has needed to be replaced swan neck cornice designs have been very popular with its elegant profile, designs such as LPC017 are ideal for larger rooms with high ceilings, and MPC065 or SPC070 for smaller rooms with lower ceilings, and also for more modern houses and flats if you are seeking to create a sense of elegance. To complete the room a plain spun plaster ceiling rose is a good choice such as LPR074.

All our plaster coving is still made by hand using traditional materials and techniques just as it was in Victorian times.

We deliver to Bath at least once a week using our own vans and drivers, samples of all our coving are available on the individual product pages, samples usually arrive in a couple of days, we would always recommend buying samples before making your final choice if you are in any way unsure.
