Partington: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We run regular deliveries to Partington using our own vans and drivers. Because plaster cornice and ceiling roses are fragile, we don’t rely on standard courier networks. Our team ensures everything is transported, unloaded, and positioned carefully, especially important on busy sites or where storage space is limited.

All of our plaster cornice and ceiling roses are still handmade using traditional methods dating back to the Victorian period. Each length of cornice is cast individually in 8ft (2.4m) lengths. When ordering, it’s worth noting that products are priced per metre rather than per length. Simply enter the total meterage required and we’ll take care of the rest.

Partington’s housing is largely made up of mid-20th century semis and terraced homes, many of which were originally built as council housing and later modernised. While these properties don’t always feature original period plasterwork, there’s a growing trend of homeowners adding decorative coving and ceiling roses to introduce character and a more traditional feel to otherwise simple interiors.

Even in more modern homes, classic profiles remain popular. The swan neck design continues to be a favourite. For rooms with slightly higher ceilings such as larger semis or extended properties, LPC017 provides a stronger, more pronounced look. For more typical ceiling heights found in Partington homes, MPC065 is often the preferred choice, offering a balanced profile that still adds definition. To complete the look, a plain spun ceiling rose like MPR073 works well, while LPR060 offers a more decorative Victorian option with acanthus leaf detailing.

Alongside these traditional styles, we also offer designs that work well in modern settings. LPC015 suits a wide range of interiors without being tied to a specific period, while MPC046 offers a similar effect in a more compact size, ideal for rooms with lower ceilings.

Choosing the right profile can be difficult, which is why we provide samples across our entire range. Our product pages also feature hundreds of real-life installations submitted by customers, giving a clear idea of how each design looks once fitted. Samples typically arrive within a couple of days and are the best way to compare options before committing.

For installation, we always recommend using experienced cornice fitters. Uneven ceilings, bay windows, and irregular walls are common challenges, and specialists are equipped to handle these properly while working efficiently. We have trusted contacts across the Greater Manchester area, including Partington, and can help arrange instillation if needed.

If you need any advice or help, our customer service team is always available and happy to help.
