Nottingham: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses
We deliver plaster coving to the Nottingham area at least once a week, so there is never long to wait after placing an order. We use our own vans and drivers to make sure all coving is delivered in good condition, our drivers will check that coving is handled carefully and stacked safely, so that it is still in good condition when it comes to be used. This is especially important on busy building sites.
We still make all our plaster coving and ceiling roses by hand, each length of coving or ceiling rose is individually moulded, using techniques and materials unchanged since Victorian times, all done by hand from start to finish. We keep large stocks of finished coving in our warehouse, so are able to deliver even the biggest orders in a matter of days rather than weeks.
We make a wide range of designs some of which date back to the Victorian period and sometimes earlier. If you are not sure where to start looking or don't know what a particular style is called, here are some of our more popular designs and the types of property for which they are most often chosen.
Swan neck cornice was used extensively in Victorian times and into the Edwardian period, it gets its name from the fact, it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall, it will be instantly recognisable to anybody who likes Victorian houses. LPC017 is a large Swan neck cornice and needs higher than average ceilings, should your ceilings not be so high MPC065 is a smaller version. A plain spun ceiling rose such as LPR074 is a good choice if you need a ceiling rose as well.
For more modern houses LPC015 is a stylish cornice that will look good anywhere, that has, above average ceiling heights and MPC051 for ceilings that are lower. These are just a few suggestions, we have many designs to choose from, and samples can be ordered off the individual product pages. Also on these pages are hundreds of pictures of coving in real life settings, these photographs have mostly been sent in by our customers and are the best way to get an impression of how a cornice would actually look if it was fitted in your home, samples only take a couple of days to arrive.
We would suggest you use experienced cornice fitters to fit your coving, not only will the end result be better, it should also be cheaper, as they will not have difficulties with ceilings that are not level, walls that are not straight and corners that are not right angles, all these things are all just part of the job and very common in older houses. As a result they will fit more coving in a day than those without experience, and the coving they do fit will be done to a higher standard.
We have good contacts with tradesmen throughout the Nottingham area and can put you in touch. If you have any other questions or would like any further information, please call our customer services team. They will be happy to talk to you.
