Merton: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

From our warehouse in Arundel we deliver plaster cornice to Merton at least twice a week, with areas such as Wimbledon being particularly busy where many of the local builders and tradesmen are regular customers. We use our own vans and drivers for deliveries, coving is fragile but if handled properly there are no problems, our drivers will make sure your coving is stacked properly in a safe place, especially if it is a busy building site, so that it is in perfect condition when it comes to be fitted.

We would suggest you use an experienced cornice fitter used to working with real plaster, not only will you get a much better finish, it should also be cheaper, as they will get a lot more coving fitted in a day, because they do not have any problems with things like uneven ceilings and walls that are not straight, things that are in reality just part of the job, but slow the inexperienced down and sometimes cause them to stop altogether.

We still make all our plaster coving and ceiling roses by hand in the same way they were made a hundred years ago, each piece is individually made, a truly handmade product. Samples of all our designs are available off the individual product pages where we also have hundreds of pictures of coving in real life settings fitted and decorated. Most of these pictures have been sent in by our customers and we try to reflect a wide range of tastes and styles to show how the same cornice can look completely different depending on the way the room has been decorated and furnished. Coving samples take a couple of days to be delivered.

We have designs dating back to the Victorian and Edwardian periods but that does mean they look dated, many look familiar and are not out of place at all in a modern setting. Such a design is the Swan Neck profile, so named because the cornice extends noticeably further out into the ceiling than it extends down the wall, LPC073 is a very popular size, as it fits the higher ceilings and larger rooms that are common in the area, The same design in a smaller size is MPC065 is fitted extensively in smaller Victorian terraced properties and also more modern houses with their smaller rooms and lower ceilings.

For twentieth century properties where people are looking for something stylish that is not tied to any particular period, LPC015 is an excellent choice, all these designs are complemented by a plain spun ceiling rose such as LPR074
