Isle of Wight: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

From our warehouse in Arundel it is not far to the Isle of Wight, we can deliver to mainland within a couple of days, for deliveries to the island we have to wait until we have enough orders to make it economic, to send a van over on the ferry, however the longest this usually takes between vans, is around 3 weeks.

We still make all our plaster coving by hand, using the same materials and techniques that were used in Victorian times, each ceiling rose or length of coving is individually moulded, a genuinely handmade product. We keep large stocks of finished coving in our Arundel warehouse, so that we are able to deliver in a matter of days rather than weeks, because we do not have to wait for the coving to dry.

We make a wide range of cornice profiles with many original designs, some dating back to Victorian times and earlier. The mix of high quality properties on the Isle of Wight means that some designs are more popular than others, a good example being. LPC030 a swan neck cornice, so called because it extends further down the wall than it does across the ceiling. In this larger size it is often chosen for  houses with higher ceilings and bigger rooms, although a design from Victorian and Edwardian times it does not look dated, and is frequently chosen for far more modern properties. A plain spun ceiling roses such as LPR074 is a good choice to complete the room.

Samples of all our coving can be ordered off the individual product pages, where you will also find hundreds of pictures of our coving in real life situations, most of these photographs have been sent in by our customers, and are the best way to get an accurate impression of what a particular cornice would really look like when installed in your home.

We would always suggest you use experienced coving fitters to install your coving, not only will they do a better job it should also be cheaper, they do not have problems with ceilings that are not level or walls that are not straight, as are frequently found in older properties, it's all just part of the job to them. The inexperienced however, can have real problems, the job takes them far longer than it should do, and is not finished to anything like a decent standard.

We have good contacts with experienced fitters on the Isle of Wight and the mainland and can put you in touch if required. Please give our customer services team a call, if you have any questions or would like any further information, they will be happy to talk to you.

These photos showcase a recent renovation project that took place on the Isle of Wight. This customer used a whole range of our ceiling roses and coving, carefully restoring original features while adding a new modern twist.

The result is a seamless blend of old and new, adding refined detail and enhancing the room's overall elegance. The use of colour really hilights the plaster mouldings, and is becoming an increasingly popular practice in modern interior design.

Whether you're looking to transform your home, or reinstate previous period elenence, Plaster Ceiling Roses is a great place to start.
