Haringey: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses
We deliver to Haringey at least twice a week, so there is not long to wait after placing an order, we only use our own vans and drivers to deliver coving. Plaster coving is fragile and has to be handled carefully, our drivers will deliver your coving in perfect condition, and then make sure it is stacked safely, to ensure it is in perfect condition when it comes to be fitted, this is especially important on busy building sites.
We still make all our plaster coving and ceiling roses by hand, using the same materials and techniques that were used in Victorian times, each piece is individually cast. We keep large amounts of finished coving in our warehouse, so that we are able to deliver it in a matter of days rather than weeks, as we do not need to wait for the coving to dry.
We have designs dating back to the Victorian period such as Swan Neck coving which is still extremely popular, whether for renovating a Victorian or Edwardian house or for adding some style to a modern apartment. It gets its name from the fact it extends noticeably further across the ceiling than it does down the wall. If the coving has been removed from a Victorian or Edwardian house it will totally transform a room, as it once again makes a feature out of the chimney breasts with its elegant external corners.
LPC073, is a large swan neck cornice suitable for larger Victorian and Edwardian houses with their higher ceilings and larger rooms, while MPC065 has the right proportions for the smaller rooms and lower ceilings of older terraced houses. A plain spun ceiling rose such as LPR074 is frequently chosen to complete the room.
Samples of all our coving are available on the individual product pages, where there are also hundreds of pictures of our coving painted and decorated in real life settings, most of these pictures have been sent in by our customers and are the best way to get an impression of how a particular cornice will actually look when it is fitted, it is amazing how different, the same cornice can look depending on, how a room has been decorated and furnished.
We would suggest you use an experienced cornice fitter to install your coving, not only will they work to a higher standard, they should also be cheaper, as they will not have any difficulties with walls that are not straight and ceilings that are not level, things that are in reality just part of the job, but can slow down the inexperienced and in some cases cause them to stop altogether. An experienced fitter will fit more coving in a day, and what they do fit, will be fitted to a higher standard
We have good contacts with local builders and tradesmen in areas such as Highgate, Crouch End, Muswell Hill, Tottenham and Wood Green, if you need a fitters contact details please ask. In fact if you need any information, or have any questions, please give our customer services team a call, they will be happy to talk to you.
