Cheltenham: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We deliver plaster coving to Cheltenham and the surrounding area at least once a week, so there are no long waits after placing an order. We use our own vans and drivers to make sure your coving arrives in good condition, our drivers will check it is handled carefully and stacked safely ready for use, this is especially important on busy or cramped building sites.

All our plaster coving is hand made. We still use the same materials and techniques that were used in Victorian times, each ceiling rose or length of coving is individually moulded, the whole process from start to finish is done completely by hand.  We keep large quantities of finished coving in stock so that we are able to deliver even the largest of orders in a matter of days rather than weeks.

With Cheltenham's history as a spa town there are many fine properties from the Regency, Victorian and Edwardian eras. All of these would have originally had plaster coving and ceiling roses, fortunately most of it has survived, but some has not as tastes have changed over the years, now it is firmly back in fashion and we have supplied cornice for many restorations in the area.

Swan neck cornice is always a favourite so called because it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall, it is a classic Victorian and Edwardian design and will be instantly recognisable to many people. Larger sizes such as LPC018 and LPC030 are suitable for the higher ceilings and bigger rooms of many Victorian houses, for lower ceilings MPC065 will create just the same style. All look well with a plain spun ceiling rose such as LPR074, or for something more ornate LPR060 is classic Victorian design.

We don't just sell coving for pre war houses, for more modern houses LPC015 is a stylish choice that looks good anywhere with average to above average ceiling heights, should you not have the ceiling height MPC046 is an equally stylish but compact design.

Samples of all our cornice can be ordered off the individual product pages, they only take a couple of days to arrive, and if you are not sure which cornice to choose we would always recommend ordering samples first. Also on these pages are hundreds of pictures of our coving in real life settings, these photographs have mostly been sent in by our customers and are the best way to get an impression of how a particular design is actually going to look in your house.

We would suggest you use experienced coving fitters to fit your cornice not only will the end result be better it should also work out cheaper. They will not have difficulties with walls that are not straight, corners that are not right angles and ceilings that are not level. All these things are just part of the job especially with older houses, this means they can fit more coving in a day and the coving they do fit, is fitted to a much higher standard.

We have good contacts with local tradesmen and can put you in touch, if you have any other questions or would like any other information, please give our customer services team a call they will be happy to help you.

What a gorgeous makeover this homeowner has accomplished in Cheltenham. When they moved into their Victorian terrace, they saw it as a blank canvas with huge potential. Determined to bring back its historic charm, they began restoring original features— they started with coving. The pictures above show the room before and after installation of our Victorian Swan Neck Cornice LPC030

Before the coving, the rooms felt plain and modern—at odds with the heritage of the house. Now, with detailed Victorian Swan Neck cornices and stop ends neatly capping the lengths, the room feels considered and complete. The addition of stop ends provides a tidy finish where the coving ends at walls, giving the impression of custom joinery and true craftsmanship.
