Burnley: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses
We deliver Plaster coving to the Burnley area at least once a week. We use our own vans and drivers to ensure our coving arrives in good condition, our drivers will also make sure the coving is handled carefully and stacked safely, ready for when it comes to be used, this is especially important on busy building sites.
Many customers choose to collect their orders from our warehouse in Stockport, which is just off junction 28 of the M60, open 8am until 4pm Monday to Friday. If you prefer, you can view samples at the warehouse, place and pay for your order and take your coving away with you, all in one visit.
All our plaster coving and ceiling roses are hand made, using the same materials and techniques that were used in Victorian times, each length of coving and each ceiling rose is individually moulded, the whole process from start to finish is completed entirely by hand.
Burnley's industrial heritage means the area has a large proportion of Victorian and Edwardian houses, all of which would have originally had plaster coving, fortunately in most of them it still remains, but in some it has been removed and many of our customers wish to restore the original look to their homes. One of the most popular Victorian cornices is the swan neck design, so called because it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall, it is a classic Victorian design and will be instantly recognisable to anybody who knows Victorian and Edwardian houses. We have a full range of sizes LPC030 is one of the larger ones and suitable for most Victorian houses with their high ceilings, if your ceiling heights are not so high, perhaps upstairs or they have been overboarded in the past, MPC065 is a smaller size. A plain spun ceiling rose such as LPR074 is a good choice to complete the room, or if you would like something more ornate LPR060 or MPR006 are both good Victorian designs.
For more modern houses LPC015 is very popular. It is a stylish coving that looks good anywhere with average or above average ceiling heights, if you do not have the ceiling height MPC046 is a good choice.
Samples of all our coving are available on the individual product pages, where you will also see hundreds of pictures of our coving in real life settings, these photographs have mostly been sent in by our customers and are the best way to get a true impression of how a particular cornice would actually look when fitted in your own house. It is surprising how different the same cornice can look depending on how the room has been furnished and decorated.
We would suggest you use experienced cornice fitters, they will not have problems with walls that are not straight and corners that are not right angles and ceilings that are not level, these are all just part of the job, and very common in older houses. This means they can fit more cornice in a day and the cornice they do fit, is fitted to a higher standard and it is cheaper.
We have good contacts with local tradesmen and can put you in contact. If you have any other questions or need any further information, please call our customer services team. They will be happy to talk to you.
