Blackburn: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We deliver plaster coving to the Blackburn area at least twice a week, our warehouse is in Bredbury, Stockport, just off junction 28 of the M60 from where you can also make collections, so there is never long to wait if you need coving in a hurry. You can also place orders at the warehouse pay and take your coving away with you. If you would prefer delivery, we use our own vans and drivers to make sure it arrives in good condition, and to make sure it stays that way, our drivers will check it is handled carefully and stacked safely ready for use. This is especially important on busy building sites.

We still make all our plaster ceiling roses and coving by hand using the same methods and materials  that were used in Victorian times, each ceiling rose or length of coving is individually moulded, a skilled job producing a truly handmade product. We keep large stocks of finished coving in our warehouse allowing us to deliver even the biggest orders in a matter of days, not weeks.

We have a wide range of designs and styles and aim to have something for every size and style of property, here are some suggestions which are popular already in the Blackburn area, with its own individual mix of property types. MPC012 is an ornate cornice from the Victorian period that would have been used to make an impression of taste and style upon visitors; it was often used in entrance halls. Another popular Victorian design is MPC065 a swan neck cornice so called because it extends further across the ceiling than it extends down the wall, this is very popular with owners of Victorian and Edwardian terraces as is a plain spun ceiling rose such as MPR073 to complete the room. These are only a few suggestions. Please look through the rest of the designs on our website.

Samples of all our coving can be ordered off the individual product pages where we also have hundreds of pictures of coving in real life situations, most of these photographs have been sent in by our customers and are the best way to get a true indication of how a particular cornice would look when fitted in your own home. It is amazing how the same cornice can look so completely different depending on how the room is decorated and furnished. Samples only take a couple of days to arrive.

We would suggest you use experienced cornice fitters to install your coving. Not only is the result better, it should also be cheaper as they do not have problems with walls that are not straight and ceilings that are not level, which they rarely are in older houses. These things can cause real problems for the inexperienced meaning they are able to fit far less coving in a day and not always to such a good standard.

We have good contacts with local builders and tradesmen, and can put you in contact, if you have any other questions or would like any further information, please call our customer services team who will be happy to talk to you.
