Beverley: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We deliver plaster cornice and plaster ceiling roses to Beverley and the surrounding area at least once a week, so there is never long to wait after placing an order. We use our own vans and drivers to deliver coving because it is too fragile for any third party delivery companies. Our drivers will make sure that the coving is handled carefully and stacked safely ready to be used, this is important on busy or crowded building sites where space can be short and damage can occur after delivery.

We make all our plaster coving and ceiling roses by hand using techniques and materials that have remained unchanged since Victorian times. Our coving is moulded in 8 foot (2.4M) lengths, each one individually cast, our ceiling roses are also all individually made by hand. We keep large amounts of finished coving in stock, so that we are able to meet even the largest orders in only a couple of days, please note we sell coving by the meter, so if you decide to place an order please enter the number of metres you require, not the number of lengths, thanks.

With its long history, It was the tenth largest town in England in the fourteenth century, Beverley has a fine range of period properties with many fine houses from the Georgian, Victorian and Edwardian periods, houses that would all of originally had decorative plaster mouldings. Fortunately most of these cornices and ceiling roses have survived, however where they have not we have worked on many of the restorations. Particularly popular with owners of Victorian and Edwardian houses needing cornice restoration has been the swan neck profile.

Swan neck cornice which was used extensively throughout the Victorian period and into the Edwardian era, will be instantly recognisable to anybody familiar with houses of that age, larger and slightly more ornate versions being used in bigger houses with higher ceilings and larger rooms. LPC017 is one of our larger swan neck cornices and is ideal for the higher ceilings of Victorian detached and larger semi detached houses, MPC065 is a smaller size suited to the lower ceilings of more modern houses, where it is often used to create a period atmosphere. If you are looking for a ceiling rose to match, a plain spun ceiling rose such as LPR074 will go well with any Victorian cornice or for something more ornate LPR060 is finely detailed original Victorian design featuring acanthus leaves.

We don't just make plaster cornice for older houses, we have a full range of styles and sizes covering every age and type of property. Cornices such as LPC015 a stylish profile that will add a touch of elegance to any room that has average and above ceiling heights. It is not tied to any particular period, style or type of house, and is frequently chosen for more newly built properties, though it does not look out of place anywhere. Or perhaps some Art Deco? MPC028 is a classic three step cornice that is full of 1930s style that has the power to transform any room.

Samples of all our designs are available off the individual product pages, these pages are also a great place to find inspiration as they feature hundreds of photographs of our cornice and ceiling roses in real life settings, all of these pictures have been sent in by our customers and many are absolutely stunning. Samples only take a couple of days to arrive.

We would suggest you use experienced cornice fitters to install your coving not only will the end result be better it should also be cheaper. They will not have problems fitting cornice around a bay window, with uneven walls or ceilings that are not level, these are all just part of the job and to be expected especially when working on older houses. We have good contacts with local tradesmen and can put you in contact if required.

If you have any other questions or would like any further information or advice, please give our customer services team a call, they have a wealth of experience and are always happy to talk to customers.
