Ashton Under Lyne: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses

We deliver Plaster coving and plaster ceiling roses within a couple of days to the Ashton area, We have a warehouse near Junction 25 of the M60 and have vans in the area all the time, we use our own vans and drivers for delivery to make sure your coving arrives in good condition, our drivers will also check it is handled carefully and  stacked safely ready for use, this is especially important on busy or crowded building sites where damage can occur.

With our warehouse so close many customers prefer to collect their order, the warehouse is open Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm. You do not have to place your order online before going to the warehouse if you would like to see the coving first and then place your order, that's no problem, you can then take the coving away with you, all in one visit.

All our plaster cornice and plaster ceiling roses are hand made, we use the same techniques and materials that were used in Victorian times, coving is made in 8 foot (2.4 meter) lengths, each piece is individually moulded, all our plaster ceiling roses are also individually made, the whole process from start to finish is done entirely by hand. We keep large quantities of finished plaster cornice and plaster ceiling roses in stock so that we can deliver even the largest orders in a matter of days rather than weeks.

Ashton has many Victorian houses all of which would have had a full set of decorative mouldings when first built, plaster cornices, plaster ceiling roses, and matching timber architraves and skirting boards, fortunately most of this has survived but where it has not, we have worked on many of the renovations. A popular design for these Victorian restorations has always been swan neck coving, so called because it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall. It is a classic Victorian design that continued in use well into the Edwardian period, its distinctive profile will be recognisable to anyone familiar with older houses. We have a range of different swan neck sizes, LPC030 being one of the most popular, especially in the Greater Manchester area where it suits the ceiling heights of the majority of Victorian houses. If you have lower ceilings MPC065 or SPC070 have just as much style and smaller proportions. A plain spun ceiling rose such as LPR074 is always a good choice with any Victorian cornice or for something more ornate LPR060 is fine Victorian design featuring acanthus leaves.

We don't just make plaster coving for older houses, we have a complete range covering all ages and styles of houses. Designs such as LPC015 which looks good anywhere with average and above ceiling heights it is particularly popular with houses built from the 1920s onwards, if you do not have the ceiling height MPC046 is just as stylish in a smaller size. Samples of all our coving are available on the individual product pages, also here are hundreds of pictures of our coving in real life situations. These are the best way to get a true impression of how a particular design would look in your own home, depending on how a room has been decorated and furnished the same design can look very different. Samples only take a couple of days to arrive.

We would recommend you use experienced coving fitters to install your cornice, not only will the result be better it should also be cheaper, they will not have problems with walls that are not straight, ceiling that are not level, coving with a pattern on it or corners that are not right angles. All these things are just part of the job especially with older houses.

We have good contacts with local cornice fitters and can put you in contact if needed. If you have any other questions or would like any help or advice, please call our customer services team, they will be happy to talk to you.
