With many fine houses dating back to the Victorian and Edwardian periods, Altrincham has always been a busy area for us. Our main warehouse is in Stockport, just off junction 28 of the M60 and we deliver coving several times a week to Altrincham, Bowden and Hale. 

We use our own vans and drivers for deliveries to make sure the coving arrives in good condition, our drivers will also check it is handled carefully, and stacked safely, ready for when it comes to be used, this is especially important on busy building sites.

If you would like to collect your coving, that is no problem. The warehouse is open from 8am to 4pm Mondays to Fridays to collect orders placed online. You can also order and pay at the warehouse, as many people like to do after first looking at some samples.

All our coving is made by hand, we still use the same materials and techniques that were used in Victorian times, each ceiling rose and each length of coving is individually moulded, the entire process is done completely by hand. We keep large stocks of finished coving in our warehouse and this allows us to deliver even the largest orders in a matter of days rather than weeks.

If you are not sure of the name of the type of coving you are looking for, or are just looking for ideas, here are a few designs that are very popular not only in Altringham, but  also in other areas with similar types of property. 

For older Victorian and Edwardian homes, swan neck cornice is a favourite, it gets its name from the fact it extends further across the ceiling than it does down the wall. It is instantly recognisable, although most people do not know what it is called everybody has seen it.  LPC073 has the right proportions for the larger rooms and higher ceilings of many of the period houses in Altrincham, for smaller rooms with lower ceilings MPC065 is perfect. If you are looking for something ornate, LPC019 and LPC022 are very impressive.

For more modern properties LPC015 is an elegant cornice that looks good anywhere, a plain spun ceiling rose such as LPR074 is a popular choice or if you would like something more ornate LPR060 is a striking Victorian design that goes perfectly with a large swan neck cornice. Samples of all our cornice can be ordered off the individual product pages, where you will also find hundreds of pictures of our cornice in real life settings, the majority of these photographs have been sent in by our customers and are the best way to get an impression of how a particular cornice will actually look in your own home. It is amazing just how different the same cornice can look depending on the way in which the room it is in, has been decorated and furnished. Samples only take a couple of days to arrive or you can pick them up from the warehouse.

We would recommend you use experienced cornice fitters to install your coving, they will not have difficulty with walls that are not straight or ceilings that are not level, things that are just part of the job especially with older houses.
