This luxurious Victorian cornice will transform any room.

With a central freeze of richly carved Acanthus leaves and a top moulding of smaller leaves, and linear mouldings above and below, It is a classic piece of Victorian style.

The Acanthus leaf design comes from the stone carvings of ancient Greek and Roman buildings and was the height of fashion in the Victorian period. When it was not only used in plaster mouldings but also furniture and exterior stone detailing.

This is a large cornice with a 170mm drop. so you will need higher than average ceilings for it to look in proportion.

As can be seen from the pictures opposite, it looks good in any room in the house with it looking fantastic in some very nice period properties, all you need is the necessary ceiling height for it to look its best.

This is one of our more difficult cornices to fit, so if you are not using professional installers, you will need to be careful and take it slowly. We have a full range of installation tools and materials on the website, where we also have some helpful instructional videos.

We make this plaster cornice entirely by hand, using the finest casting plaster. This is the only way to capture the fine detail of the Acanthus leaves. Each length is individually moulded, using the same techniques and materials that were used in Victorian times.

HOW MUCH SHOULD I ORDER?

If you measure your plaster coving needs and order an exact amount, one wall could end up being finished in small off-cuts. To avoid this, we recommend you order 15% extra to ensure longer lengths are used wherever possible, as this will create a better finish. This coving comes in 2.4m lengths.

Please remember, our coving is priced and ordered by the metre, not per length. Prices include VAT.
