Throughout the renovation:

How did the installation go, and what advice would you give others?

"As much as we love getting stuck into DIY, this job felt a little beyond our skill set. We ended up finding two highly experienced coving installers through word of mouth, one of them in his seventies—and they were incredible. They completed two rooms in under two days and left behind no mess."

Using a professional will not only save you time and money, coving installation can be quite tricky, especially in older homes where ceilings and walls are uneven. Adding coving and ceiling roses is an investment that not only elevates your home but it also adds value, so we advise to do it properly. We have many contacts of trusted professionals across the UK, We’re happy to recommend someone if you need help.

Which room benefited most from adding coving or a ceiling rose?

"Installing coving in our dining room has made a huge difference, especially because it’s part of an open-plan space, and our living room still has its original coving. Without it, the dining room always looked slightly out of place, almost unfinished. Adding those finer details and reintroducing period features was really important to us, and it’s completely transformed how cohesive the whole area feels."

Our Swan neck coving is ever so popular due to how frequently the design was used during the Victorian era when coving was most sought after, we offer this design in a number of sizes to help you create a consistent finish throughout your home.

How did you ensure the coving or roses matched the period of your home?

"We chose the Swan Neck coving because it’s almost identical to the original coving in our living room. It felt like the most authentic choice—exactly the kind of profile that would have been used if the bathroom had been fitted out in the Edwardian era. For the ceiling rose, we kept things deliberately simple. We always knew we wanted a chandelier in this space, so opting for a large but minimal ceiling rose gave it the perfect backdrop to really shine."

Our collection offers various styles from different periods from Victorian to Art-Deco as well as a range of more contemporary styles suitable for all kinds of properties. If you are unsure about what style to go for to suit your home, a rule of thumb is to remember that it is your preference, and if you are still struggling please get in touch, our team will be happy to advise.

What feedback have visitors or your audience given about the finished results?

"Our bathroom is the real showstopper—not just because of its sheer size, but thanks to the coving and the ceiling rose that give it so much character. We’re incredibly proud of how the space came together. It’s even been featured in a magazine. For two DIY novices who knew absolutely nothing about renovating 18 months ago, it felt like a real pinch-me moment."
