Location:

Bromsgrove, Worcestershire

Background:

For Aimee, renovating her Victorian Villa, a previous ‘House in Multiple Occupation’ (HMO) was just as much about preserving its heritage as it was about modernising the space. She approached the project thoughtfully, blending traditional elements with carefully chosen contemporary touches. The result is a home that respects its history while feeling fresh and uniquely hers. One detail that helped bring this vision to life was the addition of a decorative plaster ceiling rose.

A Closer Look at Anna’s Journey...

What inspired your home renovation project, and what vision did you have in mind for the space?

We’ve bought a Victorian terrace property which used to be split into several flats and we’re converting it back into a family home. All the character was stripped out of the property and we’re super keen to restore it back to its former glory.

Our vision is to make our home sing again, incorporate the classy touches with hints of subtle colour.

What made you choose plaster ceiling roses for your property, and how have our products enhanced the overall look?

After previously using polystyrene coving in our previous home, we wanted to add more quality and style into our restoration. So far, the roses and coving we’ve used have delivered that goal for us.

Can you describe the style and period of your property?

Our property is a Victorian Villa, with great bones but lacking her previous style.

Were there any particular challenges you faced during the renovation process, and how did you overcome them?

We’re very much still in the process and are just about to complete our first room after 6 months of getting the keys.

We’ve faced many challenges so far, one being having to install a whole new heating supply as our first floor has no radiators.

I think our biggest challenge at the moment is learning more patience. Everything takes so much longer than you anticipate.

What made you choose our coving and roses?

We wanted to choose coving and roses which were in keeping with the Victorian era, we wanted a bit of height in the coving and we wanted to add details without it being too much.

Who installed your rose / coving?

We’ve installed everything ourselves. We are quite ‘handy’ and felt confident - especially after watching a few youtube videos (PCR have some informative reels showing the installation process).

Before & After:

Aimee’s three-story Victorian beauty had been gradually worn down by years of neglect from previous landlords. Now, she and her family are carefully restoring it to its former glory. The renovation is moving slowly as budgets are balanced, but they’ve already sunk their teeth into the project and made real progress.

Products Used:

Plain Acanthus 610mm Ceiling Roses (MPR061)

London Swan Neck Coving 150MM, LPC073

Final Thoughts:

We think Aimee created her vision... harmony has been added to her home, she has blended timeless elegance with subtle touches of colour. The addition of our Plain Acanthus ceiling roses look cohesive in her Victorian Villa. She has successfully turned a HMO back into a home.
