Worthington: Plaster Coving, Cornice and Ceiling Roses
All of our plaster products are handmade using traditional Victorian methods. Each length of coving is cast individually in 2.4 metre (8ft) sections, and the entire process carried out by hand. Thanks to our well-stocked warehouses, we are able to deliver both small and large orders quickly, making us a reliable choice whether you are working on a single room or a full property project.
For delivery, we operate using our own fleet of vans and experienced drivers, ensuring that all items arrive safely. We deliver to the Worthington area at least once a week. Our drivers can advise on correct storage, as coving should be stacked neatly away from walkways, while ceiling roses should be kept flat and protected.
If you prefer to collect or view products in person, our warehouse in Stockport is within easy reach of Worthington. Visitors are always welcome, and our team is on hand to offer guidance and help you find the right products for your project. We are open Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm, at Pama House, Stockport Road East, SK6 2AA.
Worthington’s housing stock is quite different from more urban areas, with a strong presence of detached homes, rural properties, and bespoke builds. These homes often have larger rooms and higher ceilings, making them ideal for decorative plasterwork. Whether restoring original features in an older cottage or adding character to a newer build, coving and ceiling roses can significantly enhance the overall feel of a space.
When selecting a style, proportions are key. In larger Victorian properties with generous ceiling heights, a more substantial profile such as LPC030 can create a strong statement. For rooms with more typical ceiling heights, MPC065 or SPC070 offer a refined swan neck profile that still delivers a classic look. These can be paired with a plain spun ceiling rose like MPR072, or for something more decorative, LPR026 with its sunflower detailing provides a more traditional Victorian feel.
While these designs are rooted in period styling, plaster coving is by no means limited to older homes. Many customers in Worthington choose to incorporate it into modern interiors to introduce contrast and architectural interest. For a cleaner, more contemporary look, MPC039 ogee coving is a popular choice, offering a subtle yet stylish transition between wall and ceiling.
To help with your decision, we offer samples across our full range, available directly from our product pages. These pages also include a wide selection of real-life installation photos, giving you a better sense of how each design works in different settings.
Installation is best carried out by an experienced fitter. Uneven walls, ceilings that are out of level, and tricky corners can all present challenges, particularly with patterned coving. A professional will not only achieve a higher-quality finish but will also minimise waste and complete the job more efficiently.
We work with trusted fitters covering the wider Greater Manchester area, including Worthington, and can provide recommendations if required. Or, If you have any questions or would like advice on choosing the right products, our customer service team is always happy to help.
