Ogee Plaster Coving 150mm Drop LPC001
Drop: 150mmProjection: 150mm
This is our second largest ogee cornice with a drop and projection of 150mm or 6 inches. The ogee curve has been an integral part of both exterior and interior mouldings since Georgian times.
It is found in skirting boards (both period and modern), architraves, furniture, again both antique and modern, It must be all over virtually every house in the country.
With a drop in protection of six inches, you're really looking at rooms with above-average ceiling heights for this cornice, certainly above today's average, ceiling heights that are typically found in Victorian and Edwardian houses, or larger modern properties.
For a cornice of this size, you would need at least a six or seven-inch skirting board for it to look in proportion.
If you have a Victorian or Edwardian house, an ogee cornice will match your architraves, skirting boards, and any other internal joinery, making it an excellent choice to replace missing cornice. This cornice will not look out of place in any property that has been built in the last 250 years.
If you have very high ceilings, our largest ogee coving is LPC080 with a drop of 200mm. If your ceilings are average and below, we have MPC039 with a drop of 120mm and SPC006 with a drop of 50mm.
A Plain Spun Sealing Rose, such as LPR074, is a traditional and attractive choice to complement any ogee cornice.
All our plaster cornice is handmade, each piece individually moulded using the same techniques and materials that were used in Victorian times.
HOW MUCH SHOULD I ORDER?
If you measure your plaster coving needs and order an exact amount, one wall could end up being finished in small off-cuts. To avoid this, we recommend you order 15% extra to ensure longer lengths are used wherever possible, as this will create a better finish. This coving comes in 2.4m lengths.
