When thinking of a New Build property, your may think of the words boxy, plain, undistinguished…Well, this customer's house completely breaks that mould, proving that a house that began with little personality, can be transformed into a tastefully curated home, with the use of period features.
Paired with the use of panelling and carefully selected decor, The owner used our Plaster coving Swan Neck 100m MPC065 and Small Acanthus Rings Plaster Ceiling Roses SPR006 to take this house to a different era.
Project: New build on the outside, Period haven on the inside.

Throughout the renovation:
What made you choose your plaster coving and ceiling roses from Plaster Ceiling Roses, for this project?
"For a heritage feel. Hallways are a huge feature in period properties and whilst our new build hallway isn’t a big space, we wanted to add a hint of character to lift this area. We used the offcuts from the coving in the living room for the hallway which was great as it meant we didn't waste any product."
One of the beauties of plaster coving, is that you CAN use offcuts and rework any chips or damage you may incur while installing- all without the finished product being affected.
We advise using casting plaster for that flawless, flush finish once the coving and roses have been fitted into position; as this customer has demonstrated impeccably.
How would you describe the visual impact the coving or roses have had on your room?
"We added the ceiling roses to the hallway after we had decorated and installed the coving. It didn’t feel complete without them and we wanted all the rooms to feel cohesive with one another."
Many people choose to add coving into more, typically modern spaces, these days- using it in rooms with spotlights or LED strips.
However, we think this property is proof that Roses and coving are the dream team, sure to make the best out of any space inside your property, when paired together.
Why did plaster feel like the right material compared to lightweight alternatives?
"Plaster is the better quality material and you can see visually that it holds more detail than the plastic coving that we have upstairs in the house. It’s a lot heavier when installing but it’s worth it for the overall look. It will no doubt last longer too."
We couldn’t agree more, the attention to detail on our hand made products; cannot be trumped by any other material. For help finding a fitter to finish your plaster products to a worthy quality, please get in touch with us.

How did you choose the specific style of coving or rose?
"We opted for smaller sized acanthus roses for the hall so that it coordinated with the adjoining rooms. I like spaces to feel tied together! I searched for this under the sizing sections on the website which was really helpful."
We go out of our way to make your shopping experience with us, as easy as possible. By categorising everything into size as well as style, it should be a breeze to find exactly the right products, to suit your property.
