Location: Tunbridge Wells
Since 2022, Sophie has been sharing her home renovation projects on Instagram, inspiring others with her thoughtful approach to interiors. Her latest project focuses on her Edwardian family home in Tunbridge Wells, where she’s been carefully balancing the charm of early 20th-century design with a cleaner, more modern feel.
Take a look at how she transforms her living room using an ornate MPR018 plaster ceiling rose, that adds a finishing touch to the room.
Project: Transforming our Edwardian living room

Inside the renovation:
What inspired your home renovation project, and what vision did you have in mind for the space?
"We wanted a cosy, warm living room which fits in, in our Edwardian home. We already had a beautiful chandelier, but the ceiling felt plain and unfinished without a plaster ceiling rose."
What made you choose plaster ceiling roses for your property, and how have our products enhanced the overall look?
I could see just how much the products really elevated the overall look of a room. The craftsmanship and detail is amazing!"
All of our Ceiling roses and cornice are made by hand, using the same methods used in the Victorian period.
Can you describe the style and period of your property?
"Our property is Edwardian, so we wanted to preserve some of its original character. We prefer a tidy, minimalistic style with subtle period details, and the ceiling roses added the perfect touch of elegance without overwhelming the space."
Were there any particular challenges you faced during the instillation process, and how did you overcome them?
"During the renovation, we ran into a few unexpected delays, but one of the main challenges was making sure the ceiling roses were positioned and fitted neatly. We used a builder, who mentioned that the fitting guides on your website were really helpful throughout the process."
We always recommend using a professional fitter to install cornice and ceiling roses. This is often a lot faster and will result in a much better finish. We have a list of fitters that we can recommend, as well as lots of fitting guides on the website to help.
What made you choose our plaster ceiling rose?
"We chose your plaster ceiling rose because of its overall look - it’s absolutely beautiful, and we couldn’t be happier with it. The pattern is perfect and matches the Edwardian simple theme."

Sophie’s living room transformation showcases how subtle period details can completely elevate a space. By introducing authentic plasterwork, she’s added depth and character without compromising her home’s clean, understated style.
The once plain ceiling now draws the eye upward, complementing the room’s warm tones. By including features like ceiling roses and coving to her space, she has really helped bring the charm of her property back to life.
Coving suggestions that would correspond with a Rose Pattern rose:
- MPC044 - Floral coving with delicately cast petals, leaves and stems
- MPC065 - Classic swan neck, ideal for victorian properties
- LPC072 - Large elegant swan neck that is great for high ceiling rooms
